Disneyland; Day 5

Disneyland; November 6
We were able to enter Disneyland an hour earlier than the public, because we were staying in the park. We decided that the best use of our hour was to hit our favorite ride over and over and over...

Posing with Funny Faces

Buzz Ride

We met Marry Poppins while walking through the park.

The Madd Hatter and Alice were by far our FAVORITE characters. We saw them several times, and each time was funnier than the last. For this picture, Hailey had asked them to sign her "homework"/"signing book". Her 6th grade teacher, Mr. Fife, wanted a detailed log of Hailey's trip for homework. As they started to sign her book, they decided to take a moment to read Hailey's journal. I caught Hailey's embarrassment as they began reading her thoughts. HILARIOUS!!

To make it even better, they then got in a story-war right on the pages of her journal. This is what they wrote:
Alice first signed her name, and then wrote, "And Alice was BEST!"
The Madd Hatter then wrote, "But the Hatter was BETTER!"
To which Alice handed Hailey her journal, and then responded to Madd Hatter in Amber's journal by saying, "BUT Alice was still better than Mr. Hatter." ~Alice
To which the Madd Hatter wrote (still in Amber's journal), "Even though the Hatter was best." ~Madd Hatter

PRINCESS FANTASY FAIRE
The "fantasy faire" was still under construction, but they had an area designated for the princesses, and we had to absolutely check it out!

PIXIE HOLLOW with Tinker Bell and Periwinkle (Tinker Bell's sister)

Prior to going to Disneyland, Amber confessed that her greatest desire was to get "pixie dust" from Tinker Bell, so that she could fly. She wanted to know if they sold it at the shops, and just what she needed to do to acquire some flying dust. We advised her to talk with Tinker Bell! This picture is when Amber was asking for some pixie dust.

I loved Tinker Bell's response. She immediately agreed that Amber was definitely in need of some "pixie dust". She then extended her arm and asked Amber to begin rubbing. She insisted that Amber continued rubbing explaining that she was sure that together they could gather enough dust for Amber to fly.

Amber rubbed, and clapped, and rubbed, and clapped some more. Tinker Bell continued directing and encouraging her to continue all the while asking her to keep thinking "happy thoughts'. In the end, Amber was covered in "pixie dust"; however, it just wasn't quite enough for Amber to take flight. Tinker Bell apologized for her lack of dust, and Amber seemed content. Tinker Bell's genuine love for Amber seemed to make the lack of  flying with "pixie dust" okay.

POOH's CORNER

Even though Jacob doesn't look excited in this photo, he kept telling Bryan and I that Winnie the Pooh was his FAVORITE!

TIKI ROOM
Right outside the Tiki Room, we met all the ALADDIN characters.

The WORLD of DISNEY
After a long day at Disneyland, we took a few moments to browse through The World of Disney shopping area.
Going to Disneyland was a big part of our kid's Christmas. We did tell them they could each get one thing to go under the Christmas tree. Jake chose to make a car at Ride Makerz for his Christmas present.
