Happy Last Day of School

Kindergarten ~ Mrs. Coslett
Jacob adores Mrs. Coslett. He knew that she loved him, and that made a world of difference. My mom heart also loves her, because she loved my son.

3rd Grade ~ Mrs. Makaffi
We absolutely love Mrs. Makaffi. It was definitely a tender good-bye. When you love someone so much, moving on can be difficult. We are grateful to Mrs. Makaffi for her ability to teach Amber to be independent, and responsible. We also love that she expected Amber's best--not only in school work, but in peer relations.

6th Grade ~ Mr. Fife
Hailey loved her year with Mr. Fife. He instilled a sense of confidence, and determination to rise above. Hailey has always been an exceptional student--Mr. Fife gave her the vision of being even more.

To New Beginnings:
We had a small party at our house after school to celebrate NEW BEGINNINGS...and also, to say "good-bye" to the people we have loved for years. We have decided to switch our kids back to the Meridian School District. Even though Amity is across the street from our house, we still had no guarantees of continuing to be able to attend the Boise School District. The stress of applying year after year finally pushed us to the decision of switching back to our home district.

THE WHOLE GANG: Amber's and Hailey's Friends
Jacob's closest friend, Garren Lowry, was also switching back to the Meridian District. Ironically, they were in our same situation.

Memorial Day Weekend

I thought I would tease Amber by pretending that I was going to throw her in the river, and then we both slipped... This was definitely a lesson to me about "not teasing".  Amber broke out in tears, and it broke my mom heart. I was quick to apologize, and beg for forgiveness.

National Clogging Competition
Amber and Hailey made it to the national clogging competition that was held in Farmington, Utah at Lagoon. Hailey was torn between the clogging competition, and a soccer tournament. She felt she owed her soccer team her commitment since she missed the previous tournament. It was determined that she would drive down separately with her dad if her soccer team lost. Amber and I traveled with the Lowry's to Salt Lake City to enjoy temple square the day before the competition.

We met up with Hailey, and got ready for the competition!

The girls received a second place and a third place for their clogging numbers.

I may have sprayed them just a touch...

Happy Kindergarten Mother's Day Tea
Jacob was so excited to have me at school. He was thrilled to give me my special handmade hat, and my pot of flowers. I had the royal treatment when he delivered treats to my table, and when he sang his little heart out during the program. Moments like these are what make mothering so special.

Wishing Flower
Jake asked me if I knew that this flower was a wishing flower. He then picked it and solemnly declared his wish: "I wish that my family will be together forever!" When he finished blowing on his wishing flower he said, "Now we will be together forever!" Done Deal.
