One-on-One Date with Amber
I love one-on-one time with my kids. This month I took Amber miniature golfing. Amber golfed like a pro, and beat me 60 to 57.
I am so grateful to a dear friend of mine who suggested we have one-on-one dates. It has been worth every effort. As we schedule time, and follow through with that schedule, life somehow slows down. We are suddenly more able to talk, and because we are not rushing to the next activity my children tell me about the smaller details of their lives--my children talk to me--they truly open up. It allows me an opportunity to guide them, and to love them. Our one-on-one dates are actually scheduled "bonding" time.
