Summer Rec. Swim Team
Hailey and Amber participated in a summer rec. swim team. They swam on Borah's team, and had a fabulous time! Every day Monday through Friday the girls would wake up and swim. (I felt like we were living in our swimming suits.) They had five swimming meets throughout the summer. Both Amber and Hailey won ribbons in almost every event they entered! By the end of the season, Amber improved her time by 20 seconds in both her freestyle and back stroke, which is almost unheard of for swimming, and Hailey swam anchor in the 25 m freestyle for her relay team.

Amber swam butterfly in this race. Swimming the butterfly stroke takes a lot of upper arm strength, which still hasn't developed on Amber. She was able to swim everything technically correct; however, by the end of the race everyone in the audience knew her name, (probably because they heard our family cheering for her) and was shouting for her success! She thought it was fabulous, which made it all the more special that she completed the race!

Carrie, your girls are doing so great in swimming! We just started our boys this past summer, and hope they'll gain some good skills, too.
And that 10 virgins skit looked really neat--I'm in Young Womens now, and just used the same idea in a combined lesson. :)
