Bryce Canyon
After our family reunion to Lake Powell, we decided to continue our family vacation at Bryce Canyon. Hailey needed to go to Logan the following Monday to attend Retreat For Girls, so it just made sense to continue vacationing. We absolutely love going to National Parks, so we decided to spend our vacation at Bryce Canyon. In order to see the majesty Bryce Canyon offers, we decided to hike the trails. In two days we hiked 16 miles. The trails weaved through the canyon floor, and then climbed to the rim--sometimes more than once per hike. We were able to see several views of the majestic formations--it was definitely worth it to hike. Jacob was absolutely fantastic as we pushed through miles and miles of uphill climbing. For the last mile of one particular uphill climb, I helped him focus his goal to get to the top by encouraging him to stay in the lead, and cheer for the family. Creating a goal allowed him to focus on something other than how he was feeling.
